Caracal is located at the intersection of European road: Bucharest - Craiova - Timisoara (E70) of national roads: Corabia - Ramnicu Valcea - Sibiu (DN 54, DN 64) while benefiting and an important railway junction which completes road to rail.

The total length of roads in the municipality is 75 953 km and the total length of national and European roads is 9.26 km, 5.5 km of the E70 European road, DN 64 to 2.66 km and DN 54 to 1.55 km.

The link with Europe and the ten corridors aimed at creating links between Western and Eastern Europe, and between the states of Eastern Europe, municipality Caracal is crossed by Corridor IV and is at a distance of about 180 km of Corridor IX and 45 km of Corridor VII.

The geographical position which places him 45 km from the river port Ship, 60 km from Craiova airport and with the rail network is justified development of the national and county roads.
